Why Many Couples Are Practicing a "Snore Divorce"
Many couples are practicing what Dr. Kathi Wilson has started calling a snore divorce. The process looks somehting like this:
Sleeping in different rooms of the house
Resulting in loss of connection and intimacy
Wear and tear on a relationship over time.
Can lead to actual separation and even divorce!
There’s even research to prove this!
Stopping snoring can improve your connection and intimacy, possibly saving your relationship. Research shows the bed-partner was able to get the equivalent of an extra hour of sleep because they weren’t constantly woken up by the snoring. An hour!!!
Most, but not all snoring, happens in the throat when the tongue collapses against the palate. Some snoring can come from your nose and we will talk more about that later on.
Oral appliance therapy can prevent the tongue collapse from happening, ending the snoring.
Schedule a SNORE CONSULT and we will discuss what other ways snoring could be impacting you and your health and how we can help. In fact, research shows snoring alone is a 46% increase in risk of strokes, so it isn’t something to be taken lightly. We will use telemedicine, so you don’t have to miss any work or take the time to drive across town.
Sleeping on your side can help with snoring. There are many positional aides and DIY options to assist with this. Try this test too: use breathe right strips or Mute nasal Dilators or Max Air nose cones (all available at local pharmacies). If your snoring improves or goes away completely, that means you have a nasal component to your snoring. If that is the case, I can help connect you with an ENT that can help eliminate the nasal component.
Fix your snoring and fix your relationships. Call today to schedule your telemedicine
snore consult.
